The Community Health and Nursing Services caters to a wide range of community health needs including nursing care. Targeting rural areas identified by the government as vulnerable to diseases, our key strategy involves community-based skills training and manpower mobilization. We also respond to disasters, making sure that the affected families do not catch diseases especially when they are staying in evacuation centers.
The training programs we offer are Primary Health Care (PHC) and Nursing Care:
The Community Health and Nursing Services (CHNS) provides specialized training for professional nurses and student nurses. These are Home Nursing (HN) and Disaster Nursing (DN). Our HN graduates are sent to the field to help our chapters to teach rural folks how to become nurses in their homes. Those on DN help us look after the emergency health needs of disaster victims. Both groups are volunteers of the Red Cross.
