Sometime in 1976 the Kalinga Apayao Chapter was established so that the people of the province, especially the most vulnerable among them could have better access to Red Cross Services.

Right at the beginning, the Chapter was doing its best to put the message across, that the Red Cross is people helping people. Gradually, more and more people of the province took the message to heart. They started supporting the Red Cross in terms of volunteer participation and contributions to its annual membership and fund drive and Local Government Units counterpart.
