The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Navotas City Subchapter, together with the PRC Caloocan Chapter, deployed emergency response teams to a fire incident at 46 Miguel St., North Bay Boulevard South in Navotas City on July 11.

According to a report from the PRC Navotas Subchapter, the fire started at around 10:45 p.m. due to an unattended lighted candle. The emergency response teams provided medical and initial food assistance (biscuits) to the fire victims.

Six people were injured from the fire incident. These are Jeff Apostol, 22; Eulalia Escobar, 57; Clarissa Latorre, 42; Jojo Ilustrisimo, 24; Olimpio Escobar, 26; and Lilia Hapie, 52. 

About 287 families and 100 houses were reported to have been affected and damaged from the fire. As of this writing, six families are temporarily staying in an evacuation center established in the basketball court of North Bay Boulevard North in Navotas City.
