What is the PNRC Membership with Accident Assistance Benefits (MAAB) Program?

   Objectives:

  1.   To encourage the entire population of the Philippines to be Red Cross members regardless of citizenship (RA 95).
  2.   To instill the value of giving and sharing to the benefit of the most vulnerable.
  3.   To raise significant funds to enable PNRC to provide continuous quality of services to

  Who can be a PNRC MAAB Member?

  • All residents of the Philippines from age 6 to 65 years old.
  • Elementary, high school, vocational and college students, 
  • Members of different associations, organizations & leagues
  • Employees
  • Philippine National Red Cross officers, staff and immediate families up to 65 years old.

 How Does One Become a PNRC MAAB Member?

  Register as a member and contribute an annual membership fee of PhP35.00

 MAAB Program Benefits

COVERAGE 

 AMOUNT
Accidental Death, Disablement & Dismemberment  12,000.00
Unprovoked Murder and/or Assault     12,000.00
Accidental Medical Reimbursement     5,000.00
Burial Benefit as a result of accident    5,000.00
Hospital Daily Cash Benefit (maximum of 60 days) in case of accident or natural illness  150.00/day

  CLAIMS PROCEDURES

  1. All claims shall be pre-assessed by the Chapters.
  2. Gathering requirements for any claim shall be the responsibility of claiming party. In no way should chapter accept claims unless all requirements are fully complied with by the claiming party.
  3. Pre-assessed claims may be submitted to Malayan Branches or forwarded to NHQ for processing.
  4. All claims to be sent to NHQ shall be accompanied by fully accomplished Claims Information Sheet.
  5. Should claims be sent to a Malayan Branch, such claims shall be accompanied by a fully accomplished Claims Information Sheet and only a copy of said Claims Information Sheet shall be forwarded to NHQ.
  6. Follow-up of claims either to Malayan Branch or NHQ shall be made through official communication to facilitate tracking and for proper documentation should an unlikely event of legal action ensues. 
  7. National Headquarters shall be copied with all communication relating to claims for NHQ to be of assistance to chapters.

  CLAIMS REQUIREMENTS

  ACCIDENTAL DEATH, DISABLEMENT & DISMEMBERMENT

  1. Copy of Membership ID Card (In case of lost ID, submit and endorsement letter from the chapter and any official ID’s such as school or company ID, passport, Philippine driver’s license, SSS or GSIS ID (credit card type) or major credit cards w/ photo).
  2. Death Certificate for Accidental Death – Original and Photocopy. (The original maybe retrieved after MICO has validated the photocopy with the original one.)
  3. Medical Certificate for Disablement and/or Dismemberment – Original Copy 
  4. Post Mortem Examination and Police Report; or Post Mortem Report and Notarized Affidavit of how accident happened – Original Copy
  5. Birth Certificate – original and photocopy (the original copy maybe retrieved after MICO has validated the photocopy with the original one.)
  6. If Claimant is Parents or Spouse – original and photocopy of Marriage Contract & Birth Certificate of Spouse (the original copy maybe retrieved after MICO has validated the photocopy with the original one.)
  7. If Children/Brothers or Sisters is the claimant – original copy and photocopy of birth certificate (the original copy maybe retrieved after MICO has validated the photocopy with the original one.) 


  ACCIDENTAL MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT

  1. Notarized Affidavit of how accident happened or Police Report.
  2. Original copy of Medical Certificate and Statement of Account if confined.
  3. Original Copy of Doctors Prescription and Official Receipts.
  4. Copy of Membership ID Card (In case of lost ID, submit and endorsement letter from the chapter and any official ID’s such as school or company ID, passport, Philippine driver’s license, SSS or GSIS ID (credit card type) or major credit cards w/ photo).

  DAILY HOSPITAL INCOME BENEFIT

  1. Statement of Account from the hospital.
  2. Certificate of Confinement and Doctor’s Certificate.
  3. Copy of Membership ID Card (In case of lost ID, submit and endorsement letter from the chapter and any official ID’s such as school or company ID, passport, Philippine driver’s license, SSS or GSIS ID (credit card type) or major credit cards w/ photo).
  4. For Confinement of 7 days above, submit Clinical Abstract or Daily Nurse Report.
CLAIMS SETTLEMENT
 
The claimant should submit the complete claims documents to the nearest Red Cross Chapters for claims processing MICO branches shall not accept documents for claim processing directly from the insured members. Red Cross chapters will then forward the documents to MICO who will assess if these documents are complete and authentic. Upon completion of the documentary requirements and evaluation of validity of claims, the concerned Branch Managers/service office head shall process the claim and prepare settlement check promptly. For claims beyond authority of the Malayan Branch Manager/Service Office Head, a recommendation to settle shall be faced to the Head Office for approval. The Head Office in turn shall render approval within the day for the Branch Manager/Service Office Head to process the settlement check.
