Appeal for the Armed Conflict Victims in North Cotabato

Men, women, and children are forced to flee their home and seek safe shelter as armed conflict in Mindanao continues.

To date, a total of 162, 258 persons coming from 61 barangays of 9 municipalities in 3 provinces of Regions XII and ARMM were displaced. The most affected areas are Aleosan, Lubungan, Tulunan, Pigkawayan, Pikit and Midsayap.

Forty evacuation centers were utilized to temporarily shelter families displaced by this hostility. 5 persons were reportedly killed and 11 were wounded as fighting between the two troops continue. Houses were destroyed while livestock, agri-farm and machinery were either damaged or stolen.

The Philippine National Red Cross with the Regional Clusters were mobilized to provide emergency aid specially on Food, Non Food Items, Camp Management, Water and Sanitation, and Logistical Transport. PNRC already conducted a massive assessment with ICRC and sent 30 active and trained volunteers to assist the PNRC-ICRC activities. Bladder tanks and purification system for water- related needs are ready for deployment.

Civilians caught in the middle of this conflict need your help. Let us hear their plea.

Medicines: Paracetamol, antibiotics, analgesic, oral rehydration salts, multivitamins, and

medications to   treat diarrheal diseases

Non-food items: Bath soaps, face towels, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, plastic

mats, blankets, mosquito nets, jerry cans, water containers, water purification tablets,

plastic sheetings, and laundry soap.
