TRAINING COURSES
NON-INTRUCTORS COURSES

  • YOUTH VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION COURSE (YVOC)
    • The course aim to acquaint the future volunteers with the details of the Red Cross Movement and create pride on their part for being involved in a worldwide Movement for Humanity. If need be test the participants understanding by creating activities wherein they have to show off their knowledge on Red Cross Matters.
    • Likewise, this course hinges on the idea that for us to love the organization that we are in, we must know the details of the organization in which we are part of. Thus the Red Cross as well to be respected, people must first understand what the Red Cross is. Respect press opposes knowledge.
    • This course is recommended to be discussed in all categories of membership. However, in a trainer’s course prospective trainers must know and understand in details the various facets of the Red Cross Movement.
  • LEADERSHIP FORMATION COURSE (LFC)
    • The course aims to prepare youth participants for Basic Leadership Training through assessing ones strengths and weaknesses, clarify and re-assesses their values and integrating Red Cross Youth corporate values to further increase leadership ideals.
    • The course also provide activities and group dynamics to further increase social relations and understanding their needs and interest that will motivate them, inherently.
  • BASIC LEADERSHIP TRAINING (BLT)
    • The course aims to further provide the youth with the understanding, motivation, skills and support necessary for running and strengthening Red Cross Youth organization. This course shall summarize all the learning from the previous preparatory courses through the integration of the learning in various group activities. Future leaders are envisioned to be better equipped in helping others understand the RCY organization. This course helps the participants realize this vision.
  • HIV/AIDS PREVENTION EDUCATION (HAPE)
    • A basic dissemination course aimed to provide proper education on the prevention of HIV and AIDS.

  • DRUG ABUSE PREVENTIVE EDUCATION (DAPE)
    • A basic dissemination course aimed to provide proper education on the prevention of drug abuse.
  • PLEDGE 25 DONOR RECRUITMENT
    • (Blood Donor Recruitment and Retention Training)
      This training aims to provide knowledge and skills for information-dissemination on Pledge 25 and Voluntary Blood Donation of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) which focus on how to recruit young blood donors and to organize a blood donation activity. Voluntary blood donation needs youth participation and this training will be a valuable source of information for blood donors especially for the young.

WHAT WE OFFER (Programs and Services)

SPECIAL PROJECTS

  • WATER FOR HEALTH…FOR LIFE (Japanese Red Cross assisted project)
    • A project that took off during the year 1987 funded by the Japanese Red Cross that supports areas who are deprived of having potable water. With persistent support of the Japanese Red Cross, the project is continued starting 2002 and will be finished after five (5) years.
  • INTERNATIONAL FIRENDSHIP PROGRAM (Japanese Red Cross assisted program)
    • A youth cooperation program between the Japanese Red Cross Youth Division (JRC-RCY) and the Red Cross Youth Department of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC-RCY) involving the selection of vulnerable public elementary and high schools in the Philippines and distribution of school supplies to pupils and students and sports equipment to the selected schools.
    • A component of the program is the exchange of correspondence between the donors and the recipients and an annual exchange visit between the two societies.

 PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

  • PLEDGE 25
    • A project of the Red Cross Youth in support of the drive on voluntary blood donation. It is a group of young blood givers where members, after being motivated to become voluntary blood donors, will pledge to regularly donate blood 3-4 times a year starting the age of 18 until they reach 25 years old. After this period, they will be joining other blood donor’s group such as the Blood Galloners' Club of the National Blood Services for their regular and continuous blood donation. Aside from donating blood, the members also recruit new members and encourage them to regularly donate their blood.
  • RCY KABARANGAY
    • this pilot program is aimed at mobilizing the well- trained Community Red Cross Youth members (17-25 years old) into a volunteer Barangay Youth Disaster Response Team (BYDRT) and Red Cross disseminators all year round. This program is already enjoying the implementation support of some Red Cross chapters namely: Capiz, La Union, Leyte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Norte- Butuan City, Baguio City and recently Negros Occidental- Bacolod City.
  • JUNIOR FIRST AIDERS PROGRAM (JFAP)
    • The centerpiece of this program is lifesaving skills and development among Junior Red Cross Youth members in the elementary school level. The idea behind it is to have at least one well trained Junior First Aid Team in every school. All members will have to wear the official RCY uniforms while on duty in the campus or in the clinic.
