About Rizal
August 30, 1946: the Rizal Sub-Chapter was established with an auxiliary Board of Directors composed of nine prominent civic leaders headed by then Gov. Sixto Antonio.
1948: the Sub-Chapter became an independent chapter moving to the old Rizal Provincial Capitol Compound. Sub-offices were also created in Pasay and Caloocan which were then part of Rizal. These eventually became independent chapters.
1952: the present office of the Rizal Red Cross Chapter was built along Shaw Boulevard in Pasig City through the efforts of then Chairman John Canson and Dr. Salud Montelibano.
1956: Gov. Isidro S. Rodriguez pushed for the creation of a blood bank with the support of Chairman Tomas de Castro and Chapter Administrator Atty. Liwayway de Jesus.
1957: a medical indigency clinic was inaugurated. Funds were allocated for an ambulance and the services of a pharmacist and a doctor.
