9th Annual Mass Blood Donation Drive at PCU The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), through the National Blood Services (NBS) will once again hold a mass blood donation drive at the Philippine Christian University (PCU) 1648 Taft Avenue Ermita, Manila from March 9 to March12, 2011. This will be the 9th annual mass blood donation conducted by PRC in cooperation with the PCU's National Service Training Program (NSTP) - a program aim to enhance the civic consciousness and defense preparedness of the youth by developing the ethics of service and patriotism. Since 2002, the PRC has been in partnership with PCU in the campaign for mass blood donation activities to generate 100% non-remunerated blood from voluntary blood donors. This, according to PRC Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang is in conformity with the call for adequacy of blood supply to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. It is a fulfillment of a mandate which the PRC shares with its supporters, stakeholders and beneficiaries who are able and willing to contribute to the humanitarian advocacy of the Red Cross. |
