Training on basic fire fighting set

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) National Headquarters, in cooperation with Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Fire Rescue, will conduct training on Basic Fire Fighting Operations on March 23 -25, 2011 at the SBMA Fire Rescue Headquarters in Olongapo City.

It aims to equip PRC staff and volunteers in fire fighting and fire rescue skills that will make them reliable rescuers not only during fire emergencies but in any other given situation.

The training will be conducted as PRC Emergency Response Unit (ERU) planned to enhance its Fire Fighting Team and with this, additional manpower is highly needed.

The Basic Fire Fighting course covers all aspects of fire prevention and detection to suppression.

Thirty two (32) representatives from PRC chapters in Manila, Pasay, Quezon City, Valenzuela, Olongapo City, La Union – San Fernando City, Ilo-Ilo and National Headquarters are expected to attend the said training.

Through the initiative of Chairman Richard Gordon, PRC was able to acquire and solicit (14) fire trucks to intensify rescue and response capacity of the organization during fire emergencies.
