PRC renders assistance to 779 persons this Holy Week In line with its ongoing 2011 Holy Week Operation, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has already served a total of 779 persons as of 5 pm, 21 April 2011. Aside from blood pressure monitoring, the designated first aid stations along major highways and gasoline stations encountered several minor cases such as headaches and LBM, and few major cases following untoward vehicular accidents. As for the most recent traffic update, PRC teams on field said that the traffic along South Luzon Expressway is light to moderate, while a build up was noted near Dau exit along the North Luzon Expressway. To ensure public safety, 24/7 monitoring are being done nationwide by around 800 PRC staff and volunteers. Currently, 88 first aid stations and 6 welfare desks were established, and 29 ambulances were deployed by PRC all throughout the country. Apart from these, 24 beach patrols are also on duty in some of the widely-visited beaches in the country to look after the safety of the people on sea-side vacation this holiday season. |
