PRC to award 10 Outstanding Youth Volunteers
Ten exceptional youth volunteers will be recognized for their invaluable support and contribution to Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on December 18, 3:00 p.m. at the Bayview Park Hotel in Manila.
The Ten Outstanding Red Cross Youth of the Philippines will each receive a medal and a certificate of recognition.
The Search for the Ten Outstanding Red Cross Youth is an annual award given by PRC Red Cross Youth Department to exceptional youth volunteers who have rendered unselfish service to the humanitarian organization.
Gracing the awarding ceremony are PRC Chairman Richard Gordon, PRC Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang and PRC Board of Governors.
"The youth are effective catalysts of change. Their efforts can help solve today"s most pressing challenges of the society and should therefore be recognized," said Gordon.
Sixteen nominees from different PRC chapters vying for the ten spots are Randy Mendoza of Pangasinan-Dagupan City Chapter, Apple Agcaoili of Isabela Chapter, Janice Tabano of Valenzuela City Chapter, Peter Jorge Dampor of Bohol Chapter, Mylene Faith Bugo of Bohol Chapter, Irish Rose Alhambra of Olongapo City Chapter, Jerison Macrohon of Rizal Chapter and Marlon Madera of Rizal Chapter, Francia Mae Cardinez of La Union-San Fernando City Chapter, Elcy Keith Debildos of Davao City Chapter, Michael San Juan of Camarines Sur Chapter, Joe Remil Jurado of Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro City Chapter, Razel Elaine Grace Cataluna of Misamis Oriental-Cagayan de Oro City Chapter, Van Christian Lo of Manila Chapter, Hannah Lei Ocampo of Manila Chapter and Rigel Ana Naron of Manila Chapter.
The 10 awardees will be chosen based on their leadership skills and depth of involvement in local and national events as a participant or as an organizer within PRC and other organizations or institutions.
