SECRETARY GENERAL
As the Secretary General, Ms. Gwendolyn Pang is responsible
for the proper management, administration and operation of
all the services and offices of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
Ms. Pang is a registered nurse by profession. She started
her involvement in the Red Cross as a Red Cross Youth (RCY)
volunteer, and became a regular staff right after her
graduation. Since then, she has dedicated her time and
talent to the organization, and has shown her ability to
respond constructively to changing organizational demands.
As a former Director for Fundraising, she devised
long-term programs and special projects to generate funds
and ensure efficient PRC operations. She also
professionalized the fundraising strategy of the PRC by
coming up with a PRC fundraising roadmap, and initiating the
donor and donation program and various innovative
fundraising techniques.
She was PRC's first Deputy Secretary General—the
executive officer next to Secretary General.
On the 15th of April 2009, the Board of Governors
unanimously elected her as PRC's Secretary General. Now, she
works assiduously in making sure that the Red Cross would
maintain its reputation as the foremost humanitarian
organization in the country.
