The Philippine Red Cross’ youth volunteer arm, Red Cross Youth (RCY), named a new set of officers at the 20th National Youth Congress, which was held last October 27 to 29 at the PRC Multipurpose and Logistics Center in Mandaluyong City.
With the theme “Red Cross Youth: A Century as Agents of Change, Motivated by Passion, Reshaping the Nation”, the activity recognizes the importance of the youth in nation building and the value of volunteerism in humanitarian work.
“Once you are in the Red Cross, you become a humanitarian worker, you become less self- centered, you become a leader for all, and when you have that, this Congress will be worth it,” PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon said.
Chairman Gordon also commended the participating Chapters and the organizers who’ve worked tirelessly for the realization of the biennial event of Red Cross Youth.
The incumbent National Youth Council led by Gov. Novey Robert S. Dolde shared their accomplishment report and highlights of their 2-year term.
