Highlighting the celebration of Blood Donors Month with a theme, “What can you do? Give blood. Give now. Give often”, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) will hold its Blood Donors Recognition Ceremony, today, July 20, at the PRC Multipurpose Hall and Training Center in Mandaluyong City.
The PRC will recognize more than 700 top volunteer blood donors and partner organizations that supported PRC’s blood programs over the past years.
One of the awards that will be given out is the “Outstanding Blood Services Partner of the Year for 2017.” This service award is given to the organization who promoted PRC’s voluntary blood donation for more than 10 consecutive years.
Two outstanding partners which include the Golden Donuts Inc. and Manila Water Inc. will be given the said award.
Blood donors who supplied the PRC with blood ranging from eight to up to 50, 75 and 100 times will be given the Blood Galloners, Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, respectively. Groups who have supported the Red Cross Blood Program through sponsorship or by organizing mass blood donations will also be recognized.
“The Philippine Red Cross was able to provide our share of the country’s blood requirement because of the help of our blood donors and partners who have consistently contributed to our mission of providing safe and quality blood to our countrymen, especially to the most vulnerable,” said PRC Chairman Richard Gordon.
